Impeachment Momentum Grows: Fourth Congressman Joins Kucinich in Impeach Cheney Drive

June 6, 2007 (LPAC)--Democratic Congresswoman Yvette Clark of New York has signed on as co-sponsor of H.Res. 333, becoming the fourth member of congress to co-sponsor the bill calling for the impeachment of Dick Cheney, LaRouche PAC learned this morning. The resolution to impeach Vice President Cheney was introduced by Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Oh.) on April 24.

The Kucinich resolution charges Cheney with deceiving the American public on Iraq's weapons of mass destruction and its relationship with terrorist organizations, and of inciting aggression against Iran. The other co-sponsors are Rep. Albert Wynn (D-Md.), Rep. Willam Lacy Clay (D-Mo.) and Rep. Janice Schakowsky (D-Ill.).

In a related development, Oklahoma recently became the 15th state Democratic Party to pass a resolution calling for impeachment of Bush and Cheney. The resolution passed the annual state convention in Oklahoma City on May 19. Text of the resolution reads:

"IMPEACHMENT OF PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH AND VICE PRESIDENT DICK CHENEY. We support an investigation by the United States House of Representatives that will in our opinion lead to the impeachment of President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney."
