The Kucinich resolution charges Cheney with deceiving the American public on Iraq's weapons of mass destruction and its relationship with terrorist organizations, and of inciting aggression against Iran. The other co-sponsors are Rep. Albert Wynn (D-Md.), Rep. Willam Lacy Clay (D-Mo.) and Rep. Janice Schakowsky (D-Ill.).
In a related development, Oklahoma recently became the 15th state Democratic Party to pass a resolution calling for impeachment of Bush and Cheney. The resolution passed the annual state convention in Oklahoma City on May 19. Text of the resolution reads:
"IMPEACHMENT OF PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH AND VICE PRESIDENT DICK CHENEY. We support an investigation by the United States House of Representatives that will in our opinion lead to the impeachment of President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney."
