Some in Washington have even threatened unilateral recognition of Kosovo independence if the UNSC fails to act. Although Serbia has oppressed ethnic Albanians in its province of Kosovo, there is great danger in viewing national independence as the way to protect their rights. London's plan to suddenly grant national independence to Kosovo is pre-programmed to detonate the frozen conflicts of Europe.

This was the point made by the leaders of Georgia's breakaway provinces of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, Bagapsh and Kokoity, yesterday, after a meeting in Moscow. According to Neue Zuercher Zeitung today, they demanded that the United Nations recognize their independence and treat them like Kosovo, saying they had equally good reasons to be recognized as independent nations. They said, "If Kosovo is being split from Serbia, this is another strong proof that conflict between peoples can be solved by other principles than respect for territorial integrity."
