Is Cheney Planning a New War? Olmert Considering National Unity Government with Netanyahu
June 25, 2007 (LPAC)--According to today's Ynet, the online edition of Israel's largest daily, Yediot Aharanot, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert is considering forming a national unity government with warmonger Benjamin "Bibi" Netanyahu and his Likud party, in which Bibi would become Finance Minister. What Ynet does not report is that both Olmert and Netanyahu were in Washington at the same time last week, where they held separate meetings at the White House, including meeting with Vice President Dick Cheney. One year ago a similar meeting took place secretly between Cheney and Netanyahu, and the result was last summer's Lebanon War. Thus the question is, are they planning a new war? Ominously the situation in Lebanon continues to heat up (see separate story).
The issue of a unity government was formally brought up by Speaker of the Knesset Dalia Itzik, who has brought it up in the past, but now it is being considered by both Olmert and Bibi.
Ynet writes that Olmert with "mull the proposal" and Bibi will "weigh any offer brought forth by Olmert."
